Volunteer Opportunities
Welcome to the commerce center of Southern New Hampshire! Here at Rockingham County, NH, we service our local community through efforts at our County Attorney's Office, Registry of Deeds, Sheriff's Office, Department of Corrections, Human Resources, Finance Office, Nursing Home, Assisted Living Community, and Facilities Operations. SCOPE OF VOLUNTEERING:
Our volunteers perform a variety of tasks depending on department needs and/or project deadlines. Volunteers at our Rehabilitation, Nursing Center, and Assisted Living Community help to improve the quality of resident care by supporting the nursing staff in the day-to-day operations and assisting residents/clients/families throughout the community. We are committed to providing preventative and restorative care to all residents and clients here at Rockingham County. We want our residents to feel safe, comfortable, and supported in all aspects of their lives to include not only physical, but also emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, and intellectual well-being. Our volunteers interact with residents, assist personnel with services that include helping residents during leisure time (exercise, reading, playing games, etc.), provide comfort/rest/activities for residents including accompanying them to other areas of the community, and assist with day-to-day operations. Volunteers also assist with fall prevention by helping residents who are high fall risk with activities and 1:1's, while collecting data for the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center staff. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least 16 years of age; and Self-motivated, friendly, and comfortable talking to residents and families.
