Manufacturing Operations Teacher

Teaches skills utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities and all related duties. Be on the forefront of innovative Career Technical education in Northeast Ohio. The John F. Kennedy High School is interviewing candidates for the position of full time Manufacturing Operations teacher. This person will be responsible for instructing students enrolled in the new virtual welding training program. This program is the first of its kind in the district and designed for students to learn all welding process on virtual welding equipment. Please note: this is an in-house training program, students will learn in the classroom and lab space but will not practice live welding at this time. Instruct students in welding theory and practice that correspond with most current Ohio Department of Education content standards and procedures of the school district Actively promote safety in lab with emphasis on OSHA standards Set up and operate welding equipment. Maintain working order of classroom and lab space Encourage students to think independently and express individual ideas. Establish and maintain a rigorous and warm classroom culture Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive classroom environment. Prepare students for Industry Recognized Credentials Supervise scholars in out-of-classroom activities (eg. Work-Based Learning opportunities, Industry Visits, Career-Technical Student Organization activities, etc.) Participate in and recruit students for Career Technical Student Organization Ensure scholar participation and completion of required CTE specific assessments Assume leadership role in maintaining advisory board committee Able and willing to engage business partners to provide students with real-world experience including shadowing, internships, tours, etc. Engage parents/guardians in the learning process Adapt materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students Adapt curriculum to meet individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet the needs of students. Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students navigate health, emotional, behavioral and learning challenges Actively participate in professional development activities and trainings offered by the district Maintain up to date industry knowledge, processes, and skills Qualifications

At least 5 years occupational experience as a welder, with AWS certifications. (Post-secondary degree could offset years of experience) High School Diploma Must be able to pass BCI background test Must be eligible and agree to obtain appropriate teaching license based on Ohio Department of Education licensure requirements Knowledge of welding processes including but not limited to SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW. Experience with virtual welders preferred, training available if not Ability to maintain tools and equipment following a regular maintenance schedule Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations, blueprint reading, shop math, etc. Commitment to the education and betterment of CMSD scholars and the mission of John F.
