Finance & Reporting Analyst

Seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to work in the Houston based Finance & Reporting department of the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of a European multinational financial services group. Job Description: Management Reporting: Create P&Ls and conduct thorough financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting of entire business lines or individual clients using advanced Excel / Google Sheets features such as complex formulas, macros, and graph creation. Analyze large datasets, identifying trends, and interpreting financial data to support business decisions. Prepare clear and concise financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management, highlighting key trends and providing actionable insights. Forecasting and Budgeting: Create and maintain budgets and forecasts for revenue and expense as well as ongoing variance tracking Assist FP&A team in tracking / investigating P&L variances by lines of business and product, and track/investigate any variances between budget & actuals Create reports for cost monitoring to develop analysis of expenses by business, product, department, employee, etc. using variance systems like Workday and Concur. Operational and Organizational: Create and update prospect client lists using multiple internal, public and proprietary databases Maintain and update activity pipelines and other financial and non-financial KPIs Create and monitor procurement items throughout the process and basic project tracking for initiatives Other: Build a strong relationship with all service owners (Procurement, Finance, Legal, and other business lines). Other ad-hoc projects and requests, as needed Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years creating reporting in Excel / Google Sheets, presentations and working with large data sets. Microstrategy, Power BI, etc. a plus. Bachelor in Finance or Business minimum, MBA preferred Experience in the Financial industry (Banking preferred) or management consulting Possess knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures and ability to understand accounting issues Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas and macros), Word, and PowerPoint and Google suite equivalents Quick learner, self-motivated, organized, problem solver, analytical All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. With respect to this position in our Houston Office, the expected base salary ranges from $65,000 to $85,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus. *Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
