Purpose of the Job: The HR and Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the HR Department, with a focus on payroll processing, employee records, and assisting in benefits administration. This position also plays a key role in employee engagement initiatives such as open enrollment and the annual wellness fair. The specialist helps ensure HR programs, policies, and procedures are executed efficiently and in compliance with company and legal standards. This position works closely with the HR Director. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Payroll Administration: Process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely processing and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintain payroll records, including new hires, terminations, changes in pay, and benefits deductions. Partner with Accounting to coordinate payroll and benefits processing and reporting. Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed. HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems. Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to facilitate a seamless new hire onboarding and orientation processes. Assist with employee offboarding and ensure compliance with final paycheck regulations. Ensure all employee documentation is complete and compliant with company policy and legal requirements. Support and administer benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations; assist in the coordination and communication with annual open enrollment and support the planning and execution of annual wellness fair including scheduling vendors, preparing communications and managing logistics. Assist in the communication, interpretation, and maintenance of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart. Help develop, update and administer HR policies and procedures. Reinforce company policies, safety rules, and procedures. Participate in the development and tracking of HR metrics and reporting. Drive process improvement by identifying and implementing efficiencies in HR operations. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations (FMLA, FLSA, ACA, etc.). Support audits related to payroll, benefits, or employment practices. Employee Support: Serve as a resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, time off, and company policies. Respond to HR-related inquiries and provide support to employees and managers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education:
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required. Experience:

3 years of related Payroll and/or HR Administration. Technical Skills: Experience with HRIS and payroll systems Understanding of payroll procedures, benefit programs and employment laws Proficient in Microsoft Office - Strong Excel and data entry/record-keeping skills Familiarity with employment and wage laws Key Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Team-oriented with a problem-solving mindset Preferred Qualifications: Working experience with PayCom (HRIS) HR or payroll certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP, FPC/CPP) Knowledge of benefits administration Knowledge of labor and employment legislation What's in it for You?
