Director Strategic Sourcing

The Director of Supply Chain Non-Food is responsible for leading the procurement and supply chain strategy for all non-food items across the restaurant enterprise for Cracker Barrel and Maple Street Biscuit Company. This includes but not limited to packaging, disposables, smallwares, uniforms, various supplies, kitchen equipment, and front-of-house service items such as plates, utensils, and glassware. The role ensures that all locations are consistently supplied with high-quality, cost-effective non-food products. This leader will develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to support operational excellence and brand standards. Develop and execute the strategic direction for the non-food supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, and inventory management. Establish and maintain policies and procedures governing the procurement of non-food items. Oversee the design and implementation of systems and reporting tools that monitor and control sourcing, vendor performance, and cost management. Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Culinary, Facilities, Finance, Legal, and Information Systems to ensure alignment and timely decision-making. Lead and develop a team of buyers and supply chain professionals, providing guidance on forecasting, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements for all non-food products. Analyze market trends and conditions to inform purchasing decisions and negotiate competitive contracts. Manage vendor selection, RFP processes, and contract negotiations to ensure quality, service, and cost objectives are met. Forecast cost trends and inflationary pressures; develop mitigation strategies to protect margins. Support capital planning and budgeting for equipment and large-scale non-food purchases. Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to drive efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Experience and Education 9+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, including 5+ years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries preferred. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Certifications CPSM, CSCP, or similar supply chain/procurement certifications are a plus. Knowledge and Skills Strong business acumen and understanding of supply chain economics. Deep knowledge of contract negotiation, and vendor management. Familiarity with equipment lifecycle management and capital procurement. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Proficiency in supply chain systems, ERP platforms, and data analytics. Ability to analyze complex data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
