Tax Associate Opportunity
This top-tier, international law firm seeks a highly qualified Tax Associate to join their dynamic Tax Practice Group. This role involves providing expert tax structuring and advisory services for high-stakes corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and reorganizations. As a Tax Associate, you will be pivotal in advising on the tax implications of private equity and hedge fund formations and operations. Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth legal research and draft comprehensive memoranda, client alerts, and tax opinions. Support clients in navigating tax controversy matters, such as IRS audits, appeals, and litigation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including corporate, finance, real estate, and private client groups. Provide insights on international tax issues, including cross-border transactions and compliance with FATCA/CRS. Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory tax developments on both domestic and global levels and communicate key changes to internal teams and clients. Qualifications
J.D. from a top-tier law school, with admission to a U.S. state bar (preferably New York). LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred but not mandatory. 24 years of experience with a major law firm or reputable tax boutique. Proven expertise in corporate, partnership, and international tax law. Exceptional research, writing, and analytical abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and team interactions. Able to thrive under pressure in a high-performance, client-focused environment. Experience with fund formation and investment management taxation. Proficiency in M&A tax due diligence and post-transaction structuring.
