The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health, human, and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. Due to the number of end-users and technologies supported, OIS is one of the largest and most complex IT organizations within Ohio state government. What Youll Do: The Office of Information Services is embracing IT Transformation and Digital Experience leading our county end user into the new digital age. In order to achieve success, our end user community will need guidance and technology mentoring to embrace our transformation. The User Experience Manager will supervise and lead a new UX team to initiate and manage our efforts. You will manage a team of 5 driving a program to facilitate end user familiarization of the ODJFS desktop, network and program applications and offering subject matter expertise in each to ODJFS end users including documentation or user guides of each, publishing support documentation, presenting application in public forums, presenting online seminars. Other key duties will include supporting the County Relationship Manager with technical support regarding TPOC inquires, managing TPOC databases, technical writing, and drafting of outbound communications. In addition, staff will be providing business analyst support in regard to existing county technology business process or examining and documenting county technology needs and reporting findings to ODJFS OIS leadership. The User Experience Manager will oversee staff participation in ODJFS project teams and take active roles in county engagement for requirement contributions and outbound project communications. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Travel: This position requires occasional in-state travel to any of 88 counties in Ohio. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, attending local meetings, and coordinating with county officials. The ideal candidate must have a valid drivers license, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a flexible schedule. The candidate, at minimum, must have the following: Completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language, logic-based mathematics, data base concepts, computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts; Additional 6 1/2 years (78 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting; 18 mos. exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose. 8 1/2 years (102 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting; 18 months exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose. 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Supervisor 3, 64119, or equivalent. In offices of statewide information technology policy & planning, positions require completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language, logic-based mathematics, data base concepts, computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts; 3 yrs. exp. in utilizing word processing software; 3 yrs. exp. in utilizing internet browser(s) for research; 54 mos. exp. which included following: knowledge of information technology architecture components, developing information technology strategic plans, preparing & making presentations/public speaking, writing information technology related policy & procedures, preparing & monitoring budget, providing cost & resources estimates, & contract management; 2 yrs. exp. in utilizing e-mail system; 18 mos. exp. in project management or lead role on information technology project; 12 mos. exp. in utilizing spreadsheet software; 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Supervisor 3, 64119, or equivalent.
