Mechanical Engineer
Help direct the installation, modification, overhaul, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronics equipment. Use electrical and electronic theory to troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment. Analyze malfunctions and weaknesses revealed by tests to make necessary repairs and other adjustments. Recommend ways to improve the reliability of electronics components. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Trains subordinates in proper work methods, use of equipment, and safe work practices as an electronic mechanic. Monitors programs to identify problems such as excessive cost or low productivity, determines causes, and implements corrective actions. Resolves workflow problems and takes action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other causes of delay and inefficiency. Recommends appropriate changes in procedures and gives advice on the probably effects of changes proposed by others.
