Sleep Technologist Preparation Assistant
The Sleep Technologist Preparation Assistant is responsible for preparing patients for sleep studies, setting up the necessary equipment, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role is essential in supporting both patients and the healthcare team, ensuring that the sleep testing process runs smoothly. Working part of day and into the start of night shift, the assistant will act as a liaison between both shifts, ensuring clear communication of sleep testing orders and patient needs. High school diploma or equivalent, and 3 years of relevant patient care experience. Average 10 credits of sleep education per year over the past 36 months. Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, or holds a credential in a related field i.e.: Respiratory, EEG, Nursing. If credentialed in a related field, sleep credential required within 24 months. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
