Function/Duties of Position
We seek applications from motivated MDs/DOs looking for an Assistant Professor position that will focus on clinical and/or translational sarcoma research. Mentorship from Drs. Mike Heinrich, Chris Ryan, and Lara Davis make this an exciting opportunity for a junior faculty member interested in a sarcoma career. As the only sarcoma center in the state, OHSU treats a high volume of complex sarcoma cases. Your job is expected to consist of the following components: Clinical, Teaching Research/Academic, and In-Patient Service. The Sarcoma Program boasts a large clinical trials portfolio, including cooperative group (SWOG & SARC), industry, and investigator-initiated. In addition, the Sarcoma Program is one of 5 disease sites included in the Precision Oncology SMMART Program, a comprehensive translational and clinical research platform. Successful candidates will have a good background in all aspects of Sarcoma. They should have the ability to work across disciplines in an integrative fashion and be effective teachers. Our weekly sarcoma tumor board provides a multidisciplinary review, with active participation from medical oncology, pediatric oncology, orthopedic oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, pathology, and radiology. Experts in sarcoma represent each specialty at the tumor board. Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: MD, MD/PhD. Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon Board certified in Internal Medicine Board eligible/certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Desire to deliver the best care possible to cancer patients in a clinical research environment. Our ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of teaching, basic, clinical or population research and patient care excellence. Preferred Qualifications
Proven success in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams History of success in obtaining extramural funds for clinical trials and/or basic science research. Additional Details
