We are seeking a Fleet Manager in Training. This entry-level leadership role is designed to develop the skills and experience necessary to manage a fleet of drivers, ensure operational efficiency, and deliver superior customer service. This role provides hands-on training in driver management, load planning, compliance, and communication while working under the guidance of an experienced Fleet Manager. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing a fleet of drivers, ensuring timely delivery of loads while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Support driver scheduling, monitoring hours of service (HOS), and optimizing routes to maximize efficiency. Participate in driver onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training initiatives. Operational Support Collaborate with dispatch and load planning teams to ensure efficient load assignments and fleet utilization. Analyze and report on operational metrics, including on-time performance, fuel efficiency, and driver productivity. Assist in identifying and resolving operational challenges to minimize delays and enhance customer satisfaction. Driver Communication and Support Act as a point of contact for drivers, providing support for route issues, compliance concerns, and equipment needs. Develop positive relationships with drivers by maintaining clear and respectful communication. Learn and implement best practices for handling driver feedback and conflict resolution. Compliance and Safety Support fleet compliance with federal, state, and company regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and safety protocols. Assist in conducting regular safety meetings and driver performance reviews. Participate in incident reviews and contribute to safety improvement initiatives. Customer Service Support efforts to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services. Assist in handling customer inquiries and service recovery efforts. Training and Development Complete a structured training program focused on fleet operations, driver management, and compliance. Shadow senior fleet managers to gain insight into day-to-day operations and decision-making processes. Participate in workshops and hands-on activities designed to build leadership and problem-solving skills. Career Path Successful completion of the Fleet Manager in Training program prepares candidates for promotion to a full Fleet Manager role, with increased responsibility and autonomy.
