Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Safety and Facility Maintenance Manager, is responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing the maintenance and repair of equipment or machinery. The compensation range for this position is $20.00/hour to $25.00/hour, depending on experience. This shift works 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Your day-to-day includes: Serving as the subject matter expert on facility specific machinery/equipment, including but not limited to those with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, circuit boards, sensors, belts and drives, and machine motors. Ensuring equipment/machinery is prepared for operation following protocols and procedures and performing regular technical testing to ensure their safety and efficiency. Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, and developing preventative maintenance procedures. Collecting data on machine operation and suggesting actions to reduce machine downtime. Maintaining up to date understanding, knowledge, and experience with automated production/packaging machinery and HMIs. Identifying replacement parts and ordering supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies. Performing routine maintenance on building systems. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems. Performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Operating a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses and various hand tools. Repairing facility machinery to include, but not limited to conveyors, fans, lights, desks, and workstations. Performing minor repairs and maintaining buildings and infrastructure, such as HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc. Repairing and maintaining building perimeter structures, such as stairs, doors, etc. Recording maintenance & repair activities and environmental material handling data in identified database. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety of the facility. Operation of powered industrial vehicle as needed. Performing other related duties as assigned. What you'll bring to the table includes: High school diploma/GED preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field. Experience in industrial maintenance, equipment mechanic, Millwright, and electromechanical field strongly preferred. Up-to-date understanding, knowledge, and experience with automated production/packaging machinery and HMIs strongly preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred). Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of the European metric system strongly preferred. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. Experience must demonstrate ability to operate power tools, hand tools and electronic meters. Must have basic carpentry skill including drywall, painting, patching and installation. Basic plumbing skills, air, gas, oil, water, tubing, hose. Basic electrical wiring repair and installation. Repair and replace light fixtures, power outlets. Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
