Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a continuous improvement mindset to support the production team by developing new processes and improving existing ones. In addition, this role will be an integral part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure new products are brought into production fully vetted and manufacturable, setting the team up for success. We're the world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance, and safety of critical high-risk operations, even in GPS/GNSS denied environments. We provide virtually fail-safe GNSS and PNT solutions and applications for military and government contract customers. Lead New Product Introduction efforts from the manufacturing side, including Pilot builds to validate the design and manufacturing process. Support the development and validation of changes to existing product and manufacturing processes, and ensure existing processes are enforced. Support the production team with troubleshooting, training, and technical guidance as needed to minimize errors and production downtime. Participate in the ECO process to ensure all changes are value add; participate in design reviews, approve design changes, and champion implementation. Research, develop, and implement necessary systems, competencies, and tools required to improve capability and capacity within Operations. Utilize lean manufacturing tools to improve efficiency of manufacturing processes with an emphasis on quality. As part of NPI, participate in design reviews, analyzing new designs for manufacturability and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide input on and support for capital equipment purchases, to include software and web-based platforms. Responsible for creating key process documentation for new products such as Process Details, Test Procedures, and Checklists, among others. Optimize manufacturing efficiency by planning and analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout for new and existing product lines. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field with 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a cross functional team. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver detailed information at all levels within the business. Solid knowledge and experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and prioritize work to meet department goals. Confident, committed, and enthusiastic. Systematic problem solver, with experience finding solutions using root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) and driving implementation. Ability to problem solve with an aptitude to learn and adapt quickly. Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of GD&T to analyze and troubleshoot design issues, tools, equipment, fixtures, etc. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn an organization's processes. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to be flexible and have fun! Plus: Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Plus: Prior experience working with Aerospace, Defense, and Government customers.
