The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for New Product Introduction (NPI) will be responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering team in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products focusing on unit level build. The NPI Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for the product development and process development from concept through transfer to production owning the Design for Manufacturability and Production System Design facets of Front Loading. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging advanced technologies to create efficient and optimized assembly processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies. Essential Functions: Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing direction, mentorship, and support, and driving best practices and improvements in ways of working. Develop and implement strategies for the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing using Front Loading tools and techniques as a guide. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure seamless product launches and transfers. Process Development: Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring they meet quality, cost, delivery and yield targets. Use Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses to drive down risk in the assembly process using advancements in technology when possible. Ensure processes are efficient, cost-effective, and scalable for mass production. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team to design products with manufacturability in mind. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in assembly processes, keeping sync with production Focus Factories and advancements across the facility. Collaboration: Work closely with design and development teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular project updates and address any concerns. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, Quality Sciences or related field and 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, and/or simulation tools like Arena, CAD, and/or AutoCAD Knowledge of assembly best practices, design for manufacturability and advanced assembly technology. Experience in the medical device, automotive, aerospace, or electronics manufacturing industries. Experience with logistics, production process flow, factory floor layout and transition of products from prototype to full rate production. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $99,500- $184,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
