Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual corporate accounting operations as well as assisting with the annual external audit and quarterly review processes. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting department, including management and development of corporate accounting staff. Oversee the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes, including levels of journal entry and account reconciliation review. Assist with providing technical expertise and leadership to the finance organization on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Support the documentation and maintenance of internal control processes to maintain SOX compliance. Serve as the lead liaison for annual external audit and quarterly review processes by coordinating efforts and requirements of corporate accounting and the external auditors. Collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury, Tax, Legal, Inventory, Payroll, Finance, Leasing and other departments within the Company to understand and assess the impact of transactions as they occur. Provide support and expert guidance for special projects and programs. Review and update significant accounting policies on an as needed basis. Support ad hoc projects as required. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required CPA is required 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role and prior experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred) Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including:

Statement of cash flows Cost capitalization Product warranty

Experience in SOX control execution and process improvements Strong knowledge and understanding of SEC Rules and Regulations Strong research skills and ability to form opinions/interpretations on accounting standards Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills Must have a high level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality Arhaus is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
