The Caseworker/Program Facilitator works for the success of The Salvation Army Tamaqua Service Center by developing and maintaining the seasonal and ongoing programs of the Salvation Army and fostering good relations with volunteers and other community agencies in Tamaqua Service Center assigned ZIP codes. Oversee, run, and maintain all current social service programs of The Salvation Army through The Tamaqua Service Center, such as emergency assistance, food pantry coordination, and seasonal programs. Provide intake, and grant or deny emergency assistance, and provide referral services for clients in Service Extension zip codes in Schuylkill County and Lanford area of Carbon County. Organize and coordinate seasonal programs and create others as needed or prompted: Camp Back-to-School Program Seasonal Food Drives and Distributions Easter community program & gifts Christmas - includes Angel Trees and food drives with local churches, businesses, and schools. Coordinate with and assist local Tamaqua Area Food Pantries. Collect and upload monthly statistical information into Turbo Stats. Manage and update PR communications for the Tamaqua Service Center through the Facebook page, email lists, website, and similar communications. Help recruit and maintain membership of the Service Center Advisory Board and work in conjunction with the Board to organize meetings, events, and programs. Create all forms for seasonal and ongoing programs with final approval by Regional Manager. Complete check requests as needed to make payments to vendors. Maintain accurate files for all programs in accordance with Service Extension Department standards set by Regional Manager. Provide inventory management and reorder office supplies, arrange maintenance of office equipment, and maintain office cleanliness. Assists Red Kettle Coordinator as needed for Christmas and other seasonal fundraising goals. Manage and increase volunteers through recruiting, collecting all required paperwork, and training new volunteers. Prepare all acknowledgment letters and advise Regional Manager when available for proper signature(s). Build and maintain effective working relationships with the public and community agencies and businesses. Seek and recruit new volunteers, donors, partner agencies and business sponsorships for programs, grants, Service Center Advisory Board membership, various fundraisers throughout the year, and the Christmas kettle season. Attend training seminars as required. Respond courteously and promptly to all types of communications. Work closely with Schuylkill and Carbon County Service Units and Pottsville Corps as needed. Attend local agency meetings deemed helpful if Regional Manager is unable to attend and/or recommends attending. Perform related duties, as assigned. Requirements: High School Education with 5 years secretarial experience and/or extensive work history in diversified Working knowledge of computer programs including Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook. Typing speed of at least 40 Excellent telephone and all other communication skills. Ability to work effectively with persons seeking assistance. Self-motivated and self-directed. To be able to prioritize work and have a quick response to those in field. A valid PA Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years Meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153, including the PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
