In this role, you will perform critical environmental monitoring and sampling within GMP-regulated cleanrooms and classified process areas to ensure product safety and facility control. Responsibilities
Conducts environmental monitoring and collects samples in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and process areas to support contamination control efforts Performs sampling of high-purity water, clean steam, and compressed gas systems Handles, documents, and manages samples according to procedures and GMP requirements Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory Performs lab support functions and inventory management Performs cleaning of controlled temperature units, operates the autoclave, and performs other basic lab support responsibilities. Assists in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration. Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking. Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory Participates in the overtime, weekend, and holiday schedule as required. Participates in on-call scheduling as required Participates in the training of other employees. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences Understanding of microbes, microorganisms, and methods of contamination Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications
Relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industries Environmental Monitoring experience cGMP Experience Experience with LIMS Important Information
This position is an indoor lab-based position working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and lab spaces. Position requires significant time spent in ISO 8 cleanrooms with the following restrictions: No cosmetic products or applications (such as makeup, false lashes, spray tans etc) are permitted and must be removed before entry. Nails must be kept short, trimmed, and unadorned (no nail polish, rhinestones, etc). No jewelry may be worn (exceptions are medical alert-related and one smooth ring band that can be easily covered by a glove). Hair must be able to be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet, and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and able to be secured in a beard cover. Ability to meet physical demands, including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and equipment, and bending down or reaching for supplies. The position is full-time, first shift, Sunday - Wednesday 7am-5:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
