About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Catering Associate is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient catering service during events and functions. Their duties involve a wide range of tasks, from preparing and setting up for events to assisting in the Student Union cafeteria to provide meals to students, employees and the public; and providing catering services for on and off campus functions.
Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Evidence of a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior. Previous experience working in the food industry. Previous customer service experience.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license is required if driving a personal or university vehicle for university business. Must maintain a Food Handler's permit.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner while addressing concerns effectively. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper setup and breakdown of events. Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of food. The ability to read and comprehend both written and verbal instructions. Must be customer-service oriented. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to multi-task and assist in any area necessary. Ability to resolve problems.
Communication Skills :
Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers and other campus personnel. Ability to communicate with a positive attitude. Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
