Senior Draftsperson - Millwork

Based in Brooklyn, NY, our client is a leader in high-quality millwork and interior construction solutions, delivering exceptional craftsmanship to commercial, residential, and specialty projects. The job involves creating and developing precise millwork and interior construction shop drawings using AutoCAD (or other CAD software). It requires interpreting architectural plans, elevations, and design intent into detailed fabrication drawings. The role also includes coordinating drawings with project managers, engineers, installers, and fabricators to ensure accuracy and constructability. Additionally, the draftsperson will review and revise drawings based on feedback from clients, architects, and internal teams, ensuring all drawings meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Organized drawing files, revision logs, and documentation for each project are also maintained. Technical issues during fabrication and installation phases are resolved, and mentorship and technical guidance to junior draftsmen are provided when required. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5-7 years of drafting experience, with at least 3 years in millwork and interior construction projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Revit, or SolidWorks) is a plus. Strong understanding of construction methods, joinery techniques, materials, and finishes is necessary. The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders are also required. Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are crucial. General knowledge of Building and Construction codes as a Senior Draftsperson - Millwork is expected.
