Sr. Human Resource Generalist And Payroll Administrator

Terradepth is in search of a Sr. Human Resource Generalist and Payroll Administrator (SRHR) who will work to ensure the HR initiatives align with the company's overall business needs, and where processes work to serve both the employees and management team members. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the SRHR will support efforts to streamline processes around Talent Management, research and implement an HRIS system and expand/improve the onboarding to offboarding experience, oversee recruiters/recruiting needs, stay up to date on HR trends and best practices as well as employment laws and regulations in multiple states, insure internal documentation is managed and filed where needed, conduct Paylocity payroll processing (estimated to start in Q1, 2026) ensuring accuracy and timely payments. The SRHR will also back up the Executive Administrative Assistant and provide organizational support as needed. The ideal candidate will have worked in a start-up environment, or one in which creating, rolling out and introducing programs, processes and procedures from scratch was needed. Essential Functions Manage recruiters and recruiting activities, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate flow, feedback and next steps (tracking spreadsheets, headcount reports, offer letters, workers' comp notifications and associated activities). Research, identify, recommend, implement (train) and manage a new HRIS system (candidate tracking system). Oversee onboarding activities to ensure new hires have an exceptional experience as they join Terradepth. Activities include internal cross-departmental communication, Paylocity steps and associated activities (onboarding kickoff, eVerify process, I-9 forms), providing state and federally required notices, keeping new hires up to date and informed, and ensuring needed documentation is filed in personnel and training folders. Assist in building out the Human Resources All company Google folder with required notices and company documents and forms, creating a one stop shop for all employees. Support Open Enrollment (and new hire benefit election) process, reviewing employee elections against Paylocity uploads, Wellness and Retirement Systems and needed actions. Process and ensure accuracy of data change requests for payroll. Oversee and track training requirements (state, federal and company mandated) documentation and updating personnel folders. Assist with leave requests and Worker's Compensation administration for employees. Complete required paperwork, provide notification letters and oversee other state and federal compliance requirements. Assist in maintaining employee files. Oversee and assist employees with scheduling client required background checks, physicals, and drug tests. Current - Assist Terradepth's third party payrolling company with questions, logging information and communication needs related to biweekly payroll. Ensure payroll is accurate for processing. Take over and oversee all accurate and timely payroll processing needs (estimated start date in Q1, 2026). Perform system and file audits ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Serve as a point of contact for employees' HR and Payroll inquiries. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business, or similar field. Related experience may be substituted for degree. Must have worked in all areas of HR (payroll, benefits, training, recruiting, manager support) Three (3) to five (5) years as an HR/Sr. HR Generalist covering the areas noted above (breath and scope). Minimum of 2+ years process payroll in the Paylocity system a MUST. Excellent knowledge of the HR Paylocity system (HR and Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding). Experience in a start-up, fast moving - changing environment preferred. Must be computer proficient, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, Google Drive/Docs, Slack. Demonstrated experience showing strong skills in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to anticipate needs, find solutions and proactively look for efficiencies in process and procedures. Reliable, can be counted on to correctly complete assigned tasks and areas of responsibility. Adaptable and eager to work collaboratively to achieve department goals. Able to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to maintain and be responsible for confidential information and ongoing record-keeping. Ability to pay close attention to detail, proofread and ensure accuracy of data and reports. Must have high initiative, confidence, integrity, strong work ethic, analytical skills, and desire to consistently improve internal processes.
