About this Job
nBaton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Custodian 2. The Custodian 2 in the Facilities Department. This is a full-time position.
nREPORTS TO: Director of Facility Services COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with education and work experience. nSix months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

nTo perform manual tasks in order to maintain the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings, facilities, institutions, etc.

nExperienced.

nGeneral from a Custodian Supervisor A. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.
nSUPERVISION EXERCISED:

nDiffers from Custodian 1 by the presence of experienced-level custodial tasks.

nJob Duties and Other Information
nEXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.
nCleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
nEmpties and decontaminates trash containers.
nMoves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
nMixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
nStrips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
nFollows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.
nMaintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
nSets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned.
nWashes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
nOperates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
nStrips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.
nMay perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc.
