Job Summary:
As the first point of contact for guests, the Host/Hostess plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will warmly greet guests, manage the flow of service by maintaining an organized waitlist and seating chart, and communicate clearly with the floor staff and management to ensure smooth operations. A polished demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner upon arrival
Manage reservations and walk-ins using the POS or reservation system (e.g. Resy, OpenTable)
Accurately quote wait times and keep guests informed of their seating status
Maintain an organized seating chart and balance guest flow throughout the bar and lounge areas
Escort guests to their tables or bar seats, presenting menus and informing them of specials as needed
Answer phone calls regarding reservations, hours, and general inquiries
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management to coordinate seating and flow
Assist with coat check, door management, or guest list during peak hours and events
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the host stand and entry area
Uphold all health, safety, and company policies
Qualifications:
Previous hosting or customer service experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with reservation systems (Resy, OpenTable, SevenRooms, etc.) a plus
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
