Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional, elevated guest experience by curating personalized service that reflects BarChef’s world-class standards.
  • Perfectly describe the menu—including BarChef’s philosophy, modernist techniques, how components are meant to be consumed, and all included ingredients.
  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure they feel welcome, engaged, and cared for with responsive, friendly, and intuitive service.
  • Flawlessly execute service pacing, ensuring each guest enjoys an unhurried yet efficient experience.
  • Perform precise table maintenance—resetting, clearing, and preparing dining areas with attention to detail.
  • Handle guest inquiries and special requests professionally, making thoughtful recommendations based on preferences.
  • Collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to maintain a seamless flow of service, working closely with bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff.
  • Maintain an impeccable knowledge of BarChef’s signature cocktails, spirits, and food offerings, ensuring confidence in menu presentation and storytelling.
  • Execute all service elements with precision, from polished presentation to synchronized table service.
  • Adapt to BarChef’s evolving menu, service refinements, and hospitality innovations.

Supervisor Duties

  • Lead closing shifts, ensuring all end-of-day procedures, reporting, and checklists are completed accurately and on time.
  • Oversee floor operations during service, providing support, guidance, and direction to the FOH team to maintain service flow and quality.
  • Address guest concerns in real time with professionalism, discretion, and solutions-focused thinking.
  • Complete and maintain accurate sales, inventory, and labour tracking using Excel and internal reporting systems.
  • Support training and onboarding of new staff, reinforcing BarChef’s service standards and culture.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality, fine dining, or high-end cocktail bars.
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge, including a deep understanding of cocktails, spirits, and ingredient pairings.
  • Exceptional service and floor skills, with the ability to navigate high-touch hospitality in a luxury setting.
  • Proven supervisory or lead server experience, including opening/closing responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable using it for sales, inventory, and labour reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and guest engagement.
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring flawless service execution and consistency.
  • Ability to build authentic rapport with guests, fostering connections and encouraging return visits.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, maintaining grace under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate menu details and engage guests in BarChef’s unique experience.
  • Refined personal presentation, in alignment with BarChef’s upscale atmosphere.
  • Weekend availability is a must.
