Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at KATA. This role is responsible for the preparation and presentation of traditional and modern sushi dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and guest service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and deeply knowledgeable about Japanese cuisine, seasonal ingredients, and knife techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of sushi using authentic techniques and fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of professional sushi-making experience in a high-end or high-volume setting
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Open availability including evenings and weekends
