Patient Interaction

- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming experience. Appointment Management

- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient visits. Insurance & Billing

- Verify insurance details, process payments, and handle billing inquiries. Medical Records Maintenance

- Update and manage electronic medical records (EMR) accurately. Communication & Coordination

- Act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and insurance providers. Customer Service

- Address patient concerns, provide information, and ensure satisfaction. Administrative Support

The Patient Services Representative role at Tri-Century Eye Care takes place in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice, requiring both administrative and patient-facing responsibilities. This position involves:

Medical Office Setting

- Working in a professional eye care clinic, assisting patients and medical staff. Patient Interaction

- Engaging with patients in-person and over the phone to schedule eye exams, verify insurance, and answer inquiries. Administrative Duties

- Managing electronic medical records (EMR), handling payments, and maintaining accurate documentation. Collaborative Teamwork

- Working closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and office staff to ensure a seamless patient experience. Desk-Based & Active Tasks

- A mix of computer-based administrative work and direct patient assistance. Compliance & Confidentiality

- Adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient privacy. Variable Hours

- Includes weekday shifts, one evening per week, and occasional Saturday morning shifts. Physical demands

The Patient Services Representative position involves a combination of administrative tasks and direct patient interaction in a medical office environment. Physical requirements include:

Prolonged periods of sitting and standing

while assisting patients and performing clerical duties. Frequent walking

throughout the office to coordinate with staff and escort patients. Manual dexterity

for handling medical records, operating office equipment, and processing payments. Occasional lifting

of office supplies, small medical devices, and patient-related materials (typically under 25 lbs). Clear verbal communication

for patient interactions, phone support, and coordination with medical professionals. Visual acuity

to review documentation, insurance information, and appointment schedules with accuracy. Ability to multitask

effectively in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice, ensuring a seamless patient experience. Travel

This position requires travel between two office locations, based on the employee's designated home office:

Employees based in Bristol, PA will also travel to the Langhorne, PA office. Reliable transportation is required to ensure timely arrival at assigned locations. Travel between offices may be necessary for staff meetings, training, or coverage needs.

Required education and experience

High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, or customer service role. Proficiency in basic office software. Strong communication and organizational skills to manage patient interactions and administrative tasks. Preferred education and experience

Coursework or a certification in healthcare administration, business, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in a medical office or ophthalmology practice. Familiarity with insurance verification, medical billing, and HIPAA compliance. Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-location healthcare setting.

Salary Description

$19 per hour
