Job Description: Lead strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) programs to ensure security, compliance, and operational excellence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Manage multiple complex IAM projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals Coordinate with stakeholders in a matrixed environment, building consensus and driving progress Develop IAM roadmaps, conduct maturity assessments, and implement solutions Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and deliverables Ensure IAM systems meet security, compliance, and audit requirements Create clear documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences Present project updates and statuses to executive leadership Navigate organizational and political landscapes to remove obstacles and drive adoption Requirements:
Must-Haves: Strong knowledge of IAM concepts, technologies, and best practices Hands-on experience with SSO, MFA, PAM, and identity governance solutions Proficiency in authentication protocols: SAML, OAuth, OIDC Experience with directory services: Active Directory, LDAP Familiarity with Azure AD, AWS IAM, and Google Cloud Identity Understanding of zero-trust security models Knowledge of compliance frameworks: FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR Experience supporting audits and preparing compliance documentation Proven leadership in cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization Strong verbal/written communication and executive presentation skills
Nice-to-Haves: Experience in higher education or similarly regulated environments Vendor management experience with IAM solution providers Knowledge of IAM automation and orchestration tools
