Position DetailsPosition Information Job Title ASOSU Social Media Coordinator Appointment Type Student Employee Job Location Corvallis Position Appointment Percent 100 Appointment Basis 12 Pay Method Hourly Pay Period 16th - 15th of the following month Pay Date Last working day of the month Remote or Hybrid option?Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Social Media Coordinator for the Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) at Oregon State University (OSU).The ASOSU Social Media Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President's Public Relations Team to promote ASOSU and develop social media marketing plans for various ASOSU campaigns, initiatives, events, and programs with the goal of improving the visibility of ASOSU within the OSU campus and community. The Social Media Coordinator will also be overseeing all ASOSU social media, and work with the ASOSU Public Relations Team to distribute materials through the ASOSU social media platforms and collaborate to update and maintain the ASOSU website to cultivate student engagement.Given the limited hours and timeline of ASOSU's advocacy, these responsibilities (including those provided below) may be amended or vary depending on ongoing priorities, needs, or emergent issues and/or circumstances. The ASOSU Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the ASOSU President and Vice President to fulfill the social media needs of the ASOSU Executive Staff.Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Teamwork, Leadership, Equity & Inclusion, Technology, Career & Self-DevelopmentPosition Duties Main Positional DutiesCollaborate and consult with the Director of Marketing & Public Relations as needed on position duties;Act as social media manager for all ASOSU social medias;Create social media content aligned with ASOSU's mission;Maintain a set timeline for submission and development of all marketing related materials;Collaborate with ASOSU Executive Branch members to create content for respective events, initiatives, and campaigns; Develop materials to raise awareness of any events promoted by the ASOSU Executive Branch;Either as required by statute, or in consultation and in coordination with the ASOSU President, work in good faith with to extend use of the ASOSU social media accounts to promote events or programs of the Senate, Judicial Council, or Student Fee Committee;Promote other events, initiatives, and campaigns of campus partners on the ASOSU social media;Pursue creative and sustainable avenues for student communication and feedback;Continuously monitor student engagement with all ASOSU social media;Assess ASOSU social media performance, and create a marketing strategy to improve visibility and promotion of ASOSU;Maintain current knowledge of on and off campus resources for marketing and promotion purposes, as well as effective and innovative marketing and design methods, these may include MU Creative Studio, OSU Printing and Mailing, and University Housing and Dining Services;Collaborate with the MU Creative Studio as needed to create graphic materials and promotional videos for ASOSU events and campaigns;Create marketing materials that may utilize software like Adobe Studio, Canva, or other related graphic design tools;Ensure OSU and/or ASOSU brand guidelines are followed.Administrative Tasks & Other DutiesAttend regular meetings of the Public Relations Team and assist the Director of Marketing & Public Relations in facilitating as needed;Attend regular all-Executive staff meetings;Meet regularly one-on-one with the Director of Marketing & Public Relations;Meet regularly with the ASOSU President and Vice President;Provide a report to the ASOSU Senate upon request;Support the ASOSU President and Vice President's platform policies;Send the Chief of Staff a schedule of working hours at the beginning of each academic term;Work with the Chief of Staff to review accounting for ASOSU promotions budget;Serve and work on additional committees and campaigns, such as the Voter Registration Drive and ASOSU Elections;Attend and successfully complete all required training sessions, including in-person sessions, online training and make-up assignments related to training; Maintain regular and timely communication with the ASOSU President, Vice President and your supervisor reviewing emails and responding to other forms of communication;Attend and participate in reoccurring meetings, including staff meetings, meetings with ASOSU advisors, and any other assigned meetings;Work collaboratively with ASOSU officers and campus/community partners;Role model appropriate behavior for the workplace environment including interactions with coworkers and university partners;Other duties as assigned by the ASOSU President and Vice President. Some weeks may require additional hours while others require less. Hours must balance out during the pay period and may not exceed 24 hours within a given week per university policy.
