Top Secret Position in Washington, DC

Duties: You will direct assignments to encourage employee development and cross-functional growth to meet organizational needs. You will assess and provide strategic direction for resolution of mission-critical problems, policies, and procedures. You will work with senior management to establish new fundamental concepts and criteria and stimulate the development of new policies, methodologies, and techniques. You will define, establish, and direct organizational focus on challenging and highly complex projects/programs. You will prepare, review, and approve major reports or policies of organization for internal and external distribution. You will assess and promulgate, fiscal, and other factors affecting customer and program/project needs. You will work with customer at management levels to resolve problems affecting programs/projects. You will formulate organizational strategies, tactics, and budget/action plan to acquire and allocate resources. You will develop and integrate innovative approaches to attain goals and minimize expenditures. Requirements: Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer designing, integrating, or sustaining a strategic weapon control system, performing technical management for requirement analysis, and works with leadership to develop new policies to achieve the organization's goals. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Education: Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. OR Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). OR Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. This position has a control point; thus, the salary range may be capped at GS-15, step 05, which is equivalent to $195,200. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched. This position is part of the Navy Nuclear Deterrent Mission.
