Are you passionate about making a difference in patients' lives? We are looking for a dedicated Casual Patient Care Technician to join our dynamic 8B Medical/GI Unit. The position offers opportunities for growth, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. A starting pay rate of $18.40/hour for Nursing Assistants is offered, based on experience and qualifications. Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with activities of daily living, basic patient care, point-of-care testing, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, specimen collection. The role may also involve advanced skills like phlebotomy, IV removal, and EKGs, depending on department needs. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must also have at least one of the below: One year of general healthcare experience 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical rotation required Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field Nursing Students or those with EMT experience preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Clearances with renewal: Act 31, 33, 34, 73 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
