The HR Specialist is responsible for managing various HR functions, including internal communications, leave of absence administration, onboarding, verifications of employment, and coordination of benefit programs. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR processes and delivering excellent service to our team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the HR Communications inbox, routing inquiries to the appropriate parties, and coordinate announcements and outgoing communications from the HR department. Administer employee leave requests, including FMLA, ADA, paid parental leave, return-to-work, and other statutory leaves. Oversee completion and maintenance of I-9 forms for all team members, conducting weekly audits to ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies. Maintain and update the HR section of the company intranet with accurate, current, and relevant information. Manage the BSC new hire onboarding process, including providing orientation materials, assisting with paperwork. Respond promptly and accurately to external requests for employment verification. Ensure all employee records are securely and appropriately filed in compliance with legal and company standards. Manage and resolve parking-related issues for the BSC. Coordinate and organize HR department meetings and events, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and managing follow-up tasks. Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a Human Resources role preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Frequently stationary with regular movement throughout the office; occasional climbing, kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching. • Occasionally lifts up to 5 lbs and may exert up to 30 lbs of force. Requires regular use of vision, hearing, fine motor skills, and verbal/written communication. • Fast-paced, high-demand environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines; requires professionalism, multitasking, adaptability, and collaboration. • Occasional local travel. Standard indoor office setting with shared workspace, typical noise, lighting, and temperature. Frequent vendor and coworker interaction; must communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and electronically. Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
