Assistant Clinical Professor
The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Nursing department invites applications for an Assistant Clinical Professor position in our Online Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic faculty dedicated to preparing the next generation of psychiatric nurse practitioners through innovative, high-quality education. This faculty role primarily focuses on teaching in the PMHNP graduate program, with potential opportunities to contribute to other nursing programs as needed. The position allows for hybrid work options, though regular participation in activities on the Durham, NH campus is required for student immersions, meetings and events, based on program and university needs. Job Duties
Teach in the PMHNP program and potentially in other nursing programs (courses may be online or in-person, synchronous or asynchronous) Engage with students through on-campus and virtual immersive learning experiences Collaborate with faculty in curriculum development, program policies, assessment, and admissions Advise and mentor students through office hours and scheduled appointments Support clinical placements by assisting in the recruitment and relationship building of clinical sites and preceptors Participate in faculty governance at the department, college, or university level May oversee remote clinical supervision of graduate nursing students Participate in evaluation of program and accreditation activities May serve as academic advisor to nursing students Minimum Qualifications
Hold a doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing or education Must be eligible for a NH nursing license Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with current certification and practice Have 2-4 years of graduate nursing education experience Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, external constituents) Strong written and oral communication skills Proven dedication to student learning Preferred Qualifications
Experience in working with college age and non-traditional students. Skill in working with culturally diverse constituencies in the academic environment Ability to cultivate external relations with community leaders, institutions and stakeholders. Experience teaching via online learning management systems Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability and ethnic backgrounds Required Applicant Materials
