Welder
We are seeking a skilled Barge Welder proficient in Stick and MiG welding, as well as grinding. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of barges that come in for repairs at our facility. With precise materials supplied by our machine shop, you will ensure that all welding and repairs meet our high standards. Responsibilities
Perform Stick and MiG welding on barges. Grind and prepare surfaces for welding. Read and interpret blueprints for welding projects. Cut metal using torch cutting techniques. Measure and fit materials accurately using a tape measure. Collaborate with the machine shop to procure necessary materials for repairs. Essential Skills
Proficiency in MiG and Stick welding. Experience with torch cutting, fitting, and grinding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience in fabrication processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding certificates are preferred. Previous experience in a shipyard is advantageous. Comfortable working in various weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and heat. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
