Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving cost reduction activities through process improvements to directly impact the company's performance objectives and compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP requirements. This role significantly affects the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost and reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Responsibilities
Utilize key mechanical design and manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials, and Heat Transfer to make decisions impacting product quality, delivery, and cost. Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation. Drive root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances. Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic, and safe workstation and tooling designs. Stay current with new Manufacturing Engineering technology, techniques, and equipment and recommend new approaches where feasible. Lead and participate in events based on VSM Roadmaps. Utilize RBS tools to solve problems and continuously improve, aiming for facilitator certifications in specific RBS tools. Promote and facilitate the use of continuous improvement tools. Assist in developing and implementing lean manufacturing action plans to support strategy deployment and strategic business growth. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist others in solving problems using tools such as DMAIC. Develop and implement manufacturing cost reduction projects. Assist manufacturing and assembly associates with resolving set-up, tooling, and fixture problems, special processes like heat treatment, plating, and welding, and the selection of proper tooling and grinding wheels. Develop, maintain, and implement process routings and set-up instructions for the production of parts and assemblies. Essential Skills
Strong understanding of key manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials, and Heat Transfer. BS in Engineering or related technical field required. 3+ years of engineering experience working in a manufacturing plant environment. Experience with grinding, turning, and milling machinery preferred. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
