Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Manager, Mechanical Engineering opportunity. Job Description: The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads a team of R&D professionals responsible for work production and quality in the design and development of operating room equipment. The Manager participates in program planning and will assign resources to drive projects to completion. This position possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of the mechanical engineering field. The Manager of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for aligning around a clear vision and purpose while leading, inspiring, developing, and motivating the team to achieve objectives. The manager exercises a high degree of independent judgment on diverse and specialized projects. Job Responsibilities: Leads staff working in mechanical engineering functions including Engineers, Designers, and Technicians. Provides leadership by inspiring and aligning the engineering team around organizational goals. Manages the team through planning, delegating, training, monitoring, and reviewing work. Reviews product designs for compliance with DFM/DFA principles, quality and regulatory standards, customer requirements, and specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Plans and executes mechanical engineering activities collaboratively with stakeholders. Delegates continuous improvement efforts to meet department goals. Supports change management of new methods, procedures, and techniques. Creates a work environment fostering purpose, engagement, and accountability. Develops professional development plans and encourages team growth. Develops mechanical components, assemblies, and products to meet cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability targets. Communicates openly and proactively to inform and engage in a multicultural environment. Mentors employees, providing feedback and support for skill improvement. May act as a lead mechanical engineer designing operating room equipment. Works with HR on employee relations activities. Supports company's business objectives and adheres to quality and regulatory policies. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of design experience and 3+ years of supervisory responsibility. Experience with electro-mechanical motion control, structural analysis, and system integration in regulated industries. Proven leadership, motivation, and development skills. Strong organizational influence and customer focus. Excellent communication skills and professionalism. Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly in a fast-paced environment.
