Energy Storage Engineer - Senior Level (Hybrid)

Job Description: Summary: Barr is seeking an energy storage engineer to join our electrical engineering team and support our clients across facility, utility, industrial, fuels, and mining sectors. The role involves working on multidisciplinary project teams, assisting with energy-storage business development, understanding market trends, and helping to build our energy-storage services. The position may require up to 25% travel for out-of-town assignments. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field 10+ years of relevant experience Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy environment and demonstrate self-initiative Flexible working style and adaptability to meet deadlines and client needs Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical solutions Preferred Qualifications: Experience with energy storage applications and lifecycle demands Knowledge of the power industry or utilities PE license or ability to obtain within one year Proficiency with energy and financial modeling Understanding of other renewable markets and technologies Work Arrangement: A hybrid work model may be considered, combining time between an office and remote work. Locations include Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI; Denver or Fort Collins, CO; Duluth or Minneapolis, MN; Salt Lake City, UT. Compensation: Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is exempt under FLSA and may include a discretionary bonus based on performance. Barr distributes profits to employees via bonuses and an ESOP.
