Our Privacy team has implemented data privacy and information security programs for major organizations across various sectors, including government, technology, retail, financial services, and healthcare.

The Data Privacy Consultant provides services across privacy and cybersecurity disciplines, including compliance assessments, program design, and policy development. The role involves on-site and remote evaluations of client compliance with industry standards and regulations, requiring knowledge of international, federal, and state privacy laws and frameworks. The consultant will assist with deliverables, interact with client personnel, participate in project teams, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities:

Conduct privacy and cybersecurity risk assessments and audits for clients. Review privacy and cybersecurity practices and conduct compliance assessments. Deliver privacy and data protection training and awareness sessions. Manage privacy incidents and breaches, coordinating response efforts. Prepare reports and deliverables, communicating findings to teams and clients. Assist in creating or updating data maps, inventories, and processing records. Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments and Privacy Impact Assessments. Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy risks and audits in client and internal interactions. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and clients. Prioritize tasks effectively. Update assessment documents as laws evolve. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Internal

At least 3 years in consulting as a Data Privacy professional or related experience. Knowledge of international, federal, and state privacy and security regulations. Experience working with cross-functional teams, controls, and operational risk. Experience with privacy/security gap assessments, data inventories, and Impact Assessments. Familiarity with regulations like HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, and NIST. Knowledge of cybersecurity controls related to privacy regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, or related field. Understanding of privacy engineering principles. Certifications in progress or obtained: CIPP, CISSP, OneTrust.

Preferred Qualifications:

Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school. Additional certifications such as CIPT, CIPM, CISM, CCSFP, or Cyber AB Registered Practitioner.

Travel required: Up to 35% regionally and internationally.
