PsiQuantum is on a mission to build the first real, useful quantum computer, harnessing the laws of quantum physics to deliver exponential performance increases over today's supercomputers. We are seeking an exceptional Silicon Photonics Design Engineer to contribute to our innovative team. Responsibilities: Develop novel photonic designs for ultra-low loss fiber-to-PIC couplers. Collaborate with architecture, process, and packaging teams, as well as external vendors, to refine and meet design specifications and yield targets. Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate manufacturing constraints into photonic designs. Coordinate with layout and process teams for design tapeouts. Use quantitative analysis to identify root causes of technical problems and develop solutions. Qualifications: MS with 5+ years of experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related fields. Knowledge of fiber attachment and packaging techniques. Proficiency with photonic design tools such as Lumerical, Tidy3D, COMSOL, RSoft. Experience with silicon photonics foundry tapeouts and PDKs. Strong team collaboration skills across departments, sites, and time zones. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines. PsiQuantum offers a dynamic work environment with competitive salary ranges from $125,000 to $170,000 USD, along with equity and benefits.
