Analysis Engineers on the Battery Team are at the forefront of Tesla's next-generation products. You will analyze and optimize the performance of innovative vehicle and energy storage battery designs, pushing cell performance limits to create exceptional products. You will utilize advanced analytical tools, develop novel methodologies when necessary, and collaborate within a diverse, cross-functional team environment. This role demands strong fundamentals, a passion for technological advancement, and resilience due to Tesla's fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Drive manufacturing-centric battery pack/module designs using CAE and CFD, balancing requirements with innovative manufacturing methodologies. Conduct advanced CAE and CFD simulations to evaluate and improve subsystems and full product designs. Develop and implement advanced methodologies to foster innovation. Apply multidisciplinary domain knowledge in CFD, Thermal, Electrical, and Structural analyses. Create correlations at subsystem and vehicle levels following standard protocols. Perform optimization studies using DOE/DFSS techniques to meet performance, mass, and cost constraints. Assess manufacturing, assembly, and service process feasibility. Contribute to technical design documents, including component specifications and DFMEA. Summarize findings and prepare reports for management. Collaborate with modeling and design teams. Qualifications
Deep knowledge of FEA, FVM, CFD, Material Science, and Numerical Methods within product development in transportation. Minimum 5+ years of experience with relevant product lines. Proficiency in COMSOL, ANSYS-FLUENT, STAR CCM+; MATLAB and Simulink preferred. Experience in HV battery design and analysis of electronic components. Ability to work independently, handle challenging problems, and meet tight deadlines. Benefits
