Fire Protection Engineering Sr. Associate / Life Safety Sr. Consultant

This role, within the SLS division of SOCOTEC, seeks dependable, proactive applicants committed to continuous improvement. Senior Associates will design and develop Life Safety and Fire Protection systems that integrate seamlessly with other building systems to ensure safety and code compliance. Responsibilities include plan reviews, technical reports, egress design, code research, smoke control system design, fire-resistant construction analysis, performance-based design, fire sprinkler design, and hazardous material analysis. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, attention to detail, and superior problem-solving abilities to support team efficiency and exceed client expectations. Key responsibilities include: Managing projects independently with supporting staff Managing assigned tasks and project budgets throughout all phases Developing project scope and pricing for proposals Preparing monthly invoicing and assisting with AR follow-up Mentoring and training supporting Associates Performing project deliverables such as code reports, plan reviews, on-site inspections, performance-based designs, hazardous material analyses, and special inspections Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture 3 to 6 years of relevant Fire Protection and Life Safety experience Engineering in Training (EIT) certification and/or Professional Engineer’s License (P.E.) preferred Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Suite encouraged Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and/or PathFinder desirable Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills SOCOTEC offers competitive compensation, including salary, benefits, and bonuses based on experience.
