Network Security Engineer-Long-Term Contract (Government) Position Title: Network Security Engineer Work Arrangement: Hybrid Worksite Address: Washington, DC Interviews: Either Webcam or In Person Required Experience: 4 Years Highly Desired Certifications: Certification in network or system administration is highly desired, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, MCSA, or other related and similar certifications Job Description: Short Description : Mandatory 4-week probationary period: Contractor must be on site every day for the first 4 weeks Starting in week 5, 6: Transition to hybrid schedule (3 days on site per week), based on performance Note: With new leadership, this role may revert to 100% on site Complete Description : The contractor is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Analyzing and defining network systems requirements. Implement solutions. Plan and track projects and coordinate interagency efforts in the areas of networking, infrastructure, security and inter-operability. Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure. Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches. Analyzing network workload. Monitoring network capacity and performance. Diagnosing and resolving network problems. Developing network backup and recovery procedures. Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services. Manage the agency's telephony infrastructure including voice terminals, VOiP, voice switching, provisioning, analog lines, ACD and IVR systems. Implement and enforce the agency's policies and procedures in network and infrastructure management, auditing, inspection, security, disaster recovery, encryption and compliance. Monitor network infrastructure and systems using tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FMC, SSH, Microsoft Active Directory Tools and Utilities, Microsoft Intune, Kaseya, Cayosoft, RDP, and managing appliances including IDS/IPS devices, firewalls, VMware vCenter, Windows Servers, DHCP, DNS, and other tools as available or necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have knowledge in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), telephony systems; and perform routing network configuration management functions. Must have knowledge of network standards, protocols, and procedures. Knowledge in network architecture and topology, including transmissions protocols, broadcasting, switching, control, and management. Must have knowledge in performing routing networking configuration management functions. Must have knowledge in network systems management methods including end-to -end systems performance monitoring. Must have experience with using various tools, utilities and appliances, to perform network management, analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and mitigation. Skills Experienced in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including LANs, WANs and Telephony Systems. Required 4 Years Experience with network standards, protocols, and procedures. Required 4 Years Experienced in network architecture and topology, including transmissions protocols, broadcasting, switching, control, and management. Required 4 Years Experience in performing routing networking configuration management functions. Required 4 Years Experienced in network systems management methods including end-to -end systems performance monitoring. Required 4 Years Certification in network or system administration is highly desired, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, MCSA. Highly desired Flexible work from home options available.
