The Plant Controller is a critical leadership role that reports directly to the Corporate Financial Controller and serves as a key business partner to the Sr. Director of Operations, driving financial performance and operational efficiency across the plant. The Plant Controller will oversee all aspects of plant-level accounting, cost control, standard costing, and will develop plant level reporting to support data-driven decision-making and ensure alignment with corporate objectives. This is a highly visible role requiring a strategic mindset, strong operational acumen, and a hands-on approach to financial leadership.
Primary Functions:
- Serve as a financial advisor to the Sr. Director of Operations and plant leadership.
- Monitor budget adherence and provide early warnings of financial risks or opportunities.
- Support long-range planning for operations and plant investments.
- Lead all plantlevel financial reporting, analyze manufacturing variances, and suggest corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory and cost standards, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Oversee all cost accounting initiatives, including standard cost development, overhead burden calculation, scrap / waste reporting, etc.
- Develop CAPEX forecast process and support ongoing capital appropriation request development
- Lead the physical inventory and cycle count program.
- Support initiatives to reduce cost and improve profitability within operations.
- Support lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives with financial metrics and analysis.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Participates in the companys efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, and a positive work environment.
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with 7+ years of manufacturing accounting experienceor a combination of related experience, education, and/or training to effectively perform the essential functions of the job.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory controls, and ERP systems.
- Hands-on leader with a passion for operations and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Company Values
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
