The Publishing group at the New York Times is responsible for the content management system for all of the Times: one that empowers development teams to build and evolve experiences with speed and agility, and one that empowers editors and creators with a unified and interconnected suite of tools they can use with confidence to make the world's best journalism.
We are looking for an associate technical product manager to lead projects for our content management platform supporting The New York Times, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter, and The Athletic.
As an associate technical product manager, you will define scope and requirements for CMS features, taking into account editorial needs, product initiatives, and the requirements of our journalistic mission. You'll oversee delivery of those features, working with engineers and designers on our CMS teams.
This is a hybrid role based in New York City. You can expect to come into the office two days a week.
Responsibilities:
Define scope and approach for CMS features.
Communicate product plans, approach and progress to partners.
Evaluate alternatives in accordance with our overall platform strategy.
Lead feature execution from conception to launch, driving delivery and high-quality results.
Research solutions in existing content management systems.
Work closely with engineers and designers, promoting a collaborative environment.

This role reports to the Director of Product, Publishing.
Basic Qualifications:
At least one year of professional full-time experience in a related field, such as engineering, editorial, operations, and/or consulting
Experience working on complex software products
Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile development environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with content management systems in an editorial environment

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$85,000 — $95,000 USD
