Lobbying & Public Policy practice, is seeking an experienced
Policy Advisor
to join its
Energy Policy team
in the
Washington, D.C.
office. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of law, policy, and government, advising a broad range of clients across the energy sector on complex legislative, regulatory, and funding matters.
Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree
with an
excellent
academic record required
JD
from a
top-tier law school
or
Masters degree
strongly
preferred
Active Bar Admission
in the
District of Columbia
(if JD holder) or
relevant policy credentials
5+ years
of substantive experience in
energy policy
and related legislative and regulatory matters
Strong knowledge of
policy issues
and
legislation
affecting the energy sector, including
traditional
and
renewable energy ,
utilities , and related industries
Experience working on
Capitol Hill , ideally with
congressional committees
of jurisdiction for energy policy
Experience with
executive branch agencies
of jurisdiction, such as the
Department of Energy ,
FERC , or
EPA ,
may substitute
for Capitol Hill experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
prepare high-quality briefing materials
and
advocate effectively
before senior policymakers
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with attorneys, policy professionals, and clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on
legislative ,
regulatory , and
policy developments
in the
energy
sector
Develop
and
implement advocacy strategies
before Congress, federal agencies, and advisory bodies
Engage directly with policymakers, committee staff, and agency officials to advance client priorities
Monitor
and
analyze energy policy trends
to identify opportunities and risks
Collaborate across practice areas to provide integrated legal and policy solutions
Assist clients in
navigating regulatory processes
and
securing federal funding
opportunities
Build and maintain coalitions
to influence policy outcomes

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$150,000+
annually, as determined by experience and market factors
