Overview: Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician I to join our pharmacy team. Employees are required to obtain national pharmacy technician certification within one year of registration with the board as a technician. Responsibilities: Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to:Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facilityUse of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Logistics, CII safeNon-sterile compounding, labeling, and repackagingNon-sterile unit dose packagingCart, tray and kit preparationHandling of non-sterile hazardous medicationsProper waste or disposalMaintains required record keeping for controlled and non-controlled substancesDelivers supplies to patient unit and ancillary areas.Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance withmanufacturer requirements.Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled substances.Responsible for on-call, weekend, night and/or holiday coverage as required on a rotating basisPerforms other functions as required or assigned.
