Ichor has an immediate opening for a
Payroll Analyst , reporting to our Payroll Manager. This position serves as a key member of our 2-person payroll team and will be a point of contact and collaboration partner with employees, managers, HR, and the larger finance team. The role will lead critical business processes across our U.S. operations, including payroll processing, compliance, and analytics. The Payroll Analyst will operate as a subject matter expert with full-cycle payroll operations and will have the opportunity to influence payroll practices and systems. The role is highly visible within the organization and requires a high degree of autonomy, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to manage tasks independently. There is potential for the role to evolve into leadership and other expanded responsibilities as the company continues to grow over time.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Accurate and On-Time Payroll Processing: Prepare and process U.S. bi-weekly payroll in ADP Workforce Now for 1,100 employees, ensuring timely and accurate pay across diverse pay types, employee types, and schedules. Audit and reconcile payroll data, including hours, wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions. Strong knowledge of fundamental payroll concepts applicable to full cycle payroll and pre and post payroll audits. Prepare and calculate off-cycle payments, including final pay in accordance with state regulations. Perform payroll close activities including HSA and 401k funding, reporting and preparation of journal entries. Troubleshoot issues that arise during payroll processing and apply critical thinking and best judgment to problem-solve or escalate quickly to ensure timely resolution during tight deadlines. Monitor the daily Oracle to ADP Databridge integration to ensure a successful flow of employee data and accuracy between HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, G/L. Identify and communicate issues to stakeholders or resolve issues when necessary. Prepare biweekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll data and generate comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders. Process/export RSU transactions from Equity Edge into ADP and run off-cycle payrolls when the amount is over the $100 threshold. Ensure Equity Edge is kept current with employee YTD tax data and individual tax/employee records are maintained when there are employment status changes. Create and maintain SOPs to streamline, standardize, and scale payroll processes. Compliance and Governance:
Remain abreast of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and partner with Payroll Manager and ADP to implement changes promptly. Support quarterly and year-end reporting, including wage/tax amendments, W-2s, 1099s, 3922s, and state/local forms. Coordinate and assist with requests and questions from financial, retirement plan, and tax auditors. May assist with audits of internal records, worker's comp, tax filings and related documentation. Knowledge of SOX compliant practices and understanding of internal controls. May assist with periodic testing of controls with internal or external auditors. Technology and Innovation:
Stay current with evolving payroll technology and software. Continuously evaluate payroll processes and suggest/identify/implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency. Assist with testing process improvements and may assist with other payroll system implementations or upgrades. Problem-Solving, Communication and Customer Service:
Apply excellent customer service to address employee payroll inquiries and resolve promptly with confidentiality and good judgment. Partner effectively with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to bridge any gaps in current processes, and to understand/anticipate future needs/requests to ensure seamless financial operations. Clearly communicate complex payroll information to a diverse audience. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related/equivalent experience FPC or CPP Certification Minimum of 5 years' full cycle payroll experience processing high-volume, multi-state, large-scale payroll operations for at least 1,000+ employees Strong understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll regulations, particularly with Oregon and California. Familiar with online compliance resources Solid understanding of payroll best practices and relevant employment laws Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, formulas) Experience with RSU Equity compensation (RSU and/or options) and ESPP plan experience Experience with SOX compliance and payroll controls at a publicly traded company Strong planning, time-management, and communication skills as well as the ability to pivot/adapt quickly to business needs or busy periods. Highly productive with consistent and high attention to detail, accuracy and quality Able to understand, interpret and convey highly detailed and complex transactions Able to work long hours during critical times Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experiences
ADP Payroll system experience is preferred - but will consider relevant experience with other major payroll platforms Experience with a broad range of employee pay types, industries, or projects Solid auditing experience and knowledge to catch anomalies or provide data insights HCM system integration functionality experience (Oracle, Workday, etc.) Extensive experience with fast-paced payroll operations Cheerful, professional, can-do approach (front-line customer service background a plus) Curious and driven mentality with a high capacity for continuous learning and improvement Benefits Include
