Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Marketing Director on behalf of our client, a professional women's soccer team. This role is responsible for leading the organization's marketing, content, and social media strategies to deepen fan engagement, grow audience reach, and strengthen the team's brand identity. The Marketing Director will serve as the steward of the team's voice and storytelling, ensuring that every fan interaction, on and off the field, reflects the passion, values, and energy of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and mentor the social media and content teams, managing daily operations, development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Foster a creative environment that surfaces compelling stories from all areas of the organization.
  • Align team members with the brand's voice, organizational goals, and performance expectations.
Retention & Growth Strategy:
  • Design and execute fan lifecycle marketing strategies that grow the audience, increase engagement, and drive loyalty.
  • Utilize CRM, loyalty programs, and email marketing to deliver personalized fan experiences.
Social Media Oversight:
  • Set platform strategies with storytelling at the core for Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Ensure content is platform-native, audience-tailored, and aligned with the team's voice and tone.
Content Marketing:
  • Partner with creative and production teams to unify marketing-led campaigns with strong storytelling.
  • Develop editorial strategies for key moments such as matchdays, milestones, and community initiatives.
  • Promote inclusive, authentic narratives that reflect and celebrate the team's diverse community.
Analytics & Optimization:
  • Use audience data, segmentation, and performance metrics to refine content and messaging.
  • Define KPIs for engagement, reach, sentiment, and business impact.
Fan Focus:
  • Implement retention marketing strategies that build deep fan relationships and maximize lifetime value.
  • Humanize the fan experience through impactful storytelling.
Campaign Management:
  • Lead seasonal and evergreen marketing campaigns from concept to execution with cohesive messaging across channels.
Collaboration & Alignment:
  • Partner with partnerships, ticketing, fan experience, and sales teams to ensure marketing drives both revenue and fan-first initiatives.
Innovation & Trends:
  • Stay ahead of trends in sports, entertainment, and digital engagement, introducing new storytelling formats and platforms.
Brand Consistency:
  • Ensure all campaigns, posts, and communications reflect the team's brand voice, visual identity, and values.
Process Optimization:
  • Establish workflows, content calendars, and systems to enhance efficiency while supporting creativity.
Requirements include:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
Experience:
  • 7-10 years in marketing, audience development, or fan engagement, preferably in sports or entertainment.
  • Minimum 5 years managing social media, CRM, and/or content teams.
Skills:
  • Strong storytelling, narrative development, and content strategy expertise.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, email marketing tools, and analytics dashboards (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Sprout Social).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Certifications:
  • None required.
Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of fan behavior, sports culture, and digital engagement trends.
  • Experience with integrated marketing campaigns and measurable growth or retention outcomes.
