Beatnik On The River & Good Funk is looking for an experienced Line Cook to prepare and execute dishes to our quality standards. You’ll maintain a clean, organized station, work efficiently under pressure, and ensure every plate meets our taste, appearance, and temperature standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Cook and prep dishes following recipes and plating guides

  • Maintain proper cooking times, temperatures, and portion sizes

  • Keep station stocked, organized, and sanitized

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols

  • Communicate and work as a team to deliver smooth service

Requirements:

  • Strong cooking skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure

  • Knowledge of food safety practices

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • 2 years of line cook or equivalent kitchen experience preferred.

    • Familiarity with various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knife skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

    • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changes in service needs.

  • Work Environment:

    • Fast-paced kitchen with hot surfaces, open flames, and sharp tools.

    • Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours:   Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.  Must be available to work Sunday and Monday, open availability preferred. 

  • Pay:   Hourly, based on experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Perform repetitive motions such as chopping, stirring, and plating.

  • Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs.

  • Work in hot, humid, or noisy conditions.
