We are seeking a part-time Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team in the engineering industry. This role offers the flexibility of part-time hours, with the opportunity to have a significant impact on our business operations.
Responsibilities
As a Consulting Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and making sure we are in compliance with financial regulations. Your duties will include

• Providing expert advice on financial matters, helping to drive profitability and growth.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Managing financial transactions and ensuring they are accurately recorded in our accounting system, QuickBooks.
• Performing 3-way matching to verify that purchase orders, invoices, and receiving reports match.
• Processing timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
• Coding transactions to the appropriate accounts in the general ledger.
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
• Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial operations.
• Assisting with audits and tax preparations.
• Conducting financial analysis and preparing reports to aid in decision making.
  

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Experience with timesheet processing and 3-way matching.
• In-depth knowledge of general ledger coding.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
