Job Title: Sr. IT Business Analyst (Contract) - Job#5524 Worksite: Hartford, CT (Mon-Thr Onsite Mandatory, Fri offsite) Seeking a candidate who enjoys engaging with business processes, face-to-face communication with business organizations, and proficiency with BA documentation tools like process flow diagrams. The Sr. IT Business Analyst is the "Face of IT to business stakeholders" and acts as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders on system development and enhancements. Responsibilities include conducting business process analysis, needs assessments, leading scope negotiations, eliciting and documenting requirements, and reviewing solution designs to align technical solutions with business initiatives. Key professional qualities include integrity, dependability, strong business and technical acumen, charisma, presentation skills, and the ability to drive results across stakeholders and the enterprise. Candidates must provide work samples such as BRDs, user stories, swimlane diagrams, and process models. Preference is given to CBAP, CCBA, and graduate-educated candidates. Analyze existing systems and processes for inefficiencies or improvement opportunities. Assist stakeholders with scoping, business case development, and cost-benefit analysis. Independently elicit, document, and validate system requirements, ensuring they meet user needs and are feasible and compliant with internal standards. Lead requirements workshops or interviews. Create user stories and business requirements documents (BRD). Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into system solutions. Participate in shaping scope, requirements, estimates, and system designs. Partner with IT architects and developers on data models and system architecture. Ensure traceability of specifications to requirements. Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT. Prepare reports, presentations, and demos for stakeholders. Assist in strategic roadmaps, backlog grooming, and developing business cases and ROI models. Communicate changes and enhancements effectively. Participate in testing, review test scenarios, and assess defects. Support UAT and collaborate with project managers on progress, estimates, and planning. Display analytical and problem-solving skills. Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or similar, or equivalent work experience with a High School Diploma or GED and 5-10 years relevant experience. Experience Requirements: 8-10 years as a Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, or Project Manager. Experience with Swimlane Diagramming/Process Modeling. Knowledge of Agile, BABOK, and Waterfall methodologies. Requirement elicitation for core technology projects. Proficiency with Jira and Confluence. CCBA or CBAP certification preferred.
