Overview
At Houston Methodist, the Senior (Sr.) Financial Analyst is responsible for performing complex data analysis related to the clinical or financial performance of the assigned entity or hospital and/or contractual relationships. The role involves independently compiling and reporting information for various departments and management, collaborating with teams, and serving as a liaison with Information Technology Business Intelligence and other stakeholders. The Sr. Financial Analyst develops best practices and tools for business analysis, highlights performance issues, researches solutions, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement. The position also involves reporting statistical information in graphical formats, assisting with annual budgets, maintaining dashboards of key indicators, and conducting payer reimbursement analysis and financial reconciliation as needed.

Responsibilities
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Interact with all levels within and outside the organization to resolve problems regarding accounting or financial performance.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned entities, supporting training and mentoring.
- Assist leadership in managing departmental budgets and report generation.
- Extract and reconcile financial data, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Review revenue projections, develop operational indicators, and recommend improvements.
- Follow internal audit requirements and utilize tools to enhance financial analytics and revenue opportunities.
- Support auditing, reporting, and modeling tools for financial analysis and contract performance.
- Maintain dashboards, revenue models, and assist in budget proposals and financial oversight.
- Use resources effectively, demonstrating financial stewardship and prioritization skills.
- Maintain procedures for reconciliation, stay informed on compensation methodologies, and seek opportunities for improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Manage own career development and recommend new functionalities for performance improvement.

Qualifications
EDUCATION- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field.
- Minimum three years in financial, budget, or cost analysis; healthcare experience preferred.
License/Certification

KSA/ Supplemental Data
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Proficiency in English, analytical thinking, problem solving, business process analysis, project management, and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with hospital databases, cost accounting, and financial systems is preferred.
